The Foothill Workforce Development Board and its partners in the San Gabriel Valley offer a suite of services such as consulting, networking, and layoff assistance to support businesses in our region.
Chamber of Commerce Business Seminar and Networking Opportunities
FWDB has a strong relationship with the local Chambers of Commerce and regularly interacts with Chamber members at events throughout the region. The Chambers offers a number of opportunities to member organizations that help strengthen business relationships and help your company grow. These include:
- Breakfast and Luncheon events that help attendees promote their business, make meaningful connections with other business people and gain valuable referrals and references
- Mixers for networking in a fun, casual environment
- Small Business Seminars on topics including human resources compliance, customer service, building B2B relationships, technology, and more
- Procurement forums, economic summits, and more

Consulting Services
The Small Business Development Centers are SBA-funded locations that offer no-cost assistance to small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. Professional, paid consultants provide one-on-one support for marketing, financial management, learning to bid on government contracts, taking technology to market, and more. The Pasadena area SBDC’s are on site at Pasadena City College (serving SGV North) and the University of La Verne (serving SGV East).
The Service Corps Of Retired Executives (SCORE) is an SBA-funded organization whose volunteer members are trained to serve as counselors, advisors, and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service.
